Alright, this one was long but I didn’t want to post it in two parts because it didn’t feel right. So here is an extra long chapter that I decided to wait to post until I could finish it where I wanted to.

Enjoy my lovelies!

==========================================================================

We got to the dining hall and I was winded, my hands already feeling so sore they could be blistered. Jake was holding the door for me and I sighed, hurrying in past him as he chuckled.

“You know it’s been a little over a week since you got your crutches. With all your working out and practice, you’d think you’d have the stamina for this shit,” he teased and I scoffed.

“Today is always the worst day with the most classes,” I grumbled and he laughed.

“And you don’t have Clay carrying you around on his back like he normally does!” he nudged me as we got into line. I rolled my eyes, blushing as I ignored the embarrassment of that. In the moment I never cared because I was injured, usually tired, and I liked the feeling of his body and hands on me.

“Well at least this is the last week, the championship game is this Friday right?” he asked and I nodded. “I know Katie wanted me to go,” he trailed off and I snorted, glancing at him with a smirk.

“So are you two getting serious?” I teased and he couldn’t stop his smile as he bit his lip and shuffled nervously.

“Bro come on, don’t tease me like this!” he chuckled and I laughed, grabbing his arm and leaning toward him making kissy faces.

“You’ve been whipped and tamed Jake. I never thought I’d see the day,” we couldn’t stop laughing as we scooted up in line.

“I guess she’s just great,” he admitted finally and I nodded, adjusting my jeans. “And she’s really funny and smart. She’s not so clingy or jealous where she’s hounding me, but I feel like she cares enough to at least check in every day,” he continued and I couldn’t help but smile seeing the twinkle in his eye.

“Just wait for the honeymoon phase to end,” I snorted mockingly and he laughed, grabbing the back of my neck and shaking me gently.

“You’re fucking annoying,” he sighed as I shrugged. “But in all seriousness she’s really great,” he mumbled and I nodded slowly.

“Pity her family hates Clay and me,” I muttered and he sighed, patting my back as his hand slid off. We got up to the line and he grabbed two plates, filling his and mine up with a ton of hot food. It smelt amazing and I was salivating as my stomach growled. I paid for mine and we got to a booth, Jake going to get me a drink as I adjusted in the seat.

I was about to take a bite when there was a knock on the table. I glanced over seeing Zack and frowned, setting my fork down and leaning back as I crossed my arms. “Yeah I’m not happy to be talking to you either,” he grumbled and I rolled my eyes, gesturing for him to sit across from me. He hesitated, noticing Jake coming back.

“Who’s this?” Jake pointed to him, brushing past him easily as he slid into the booth.

“This is Zack. My other captain,” I breathed, Jake’s eyes going wide as he glanced at him. The smug ass smile on his lips told me everything I needed to know. Jake had already sized him up and decided he wasn’t worth it. And probably also understands why Clay still wants me and not Zack. Not that Zack was ugly, but according to nearly everyone who saw the two of us and heard about the situation all agreed with Clay. I was the clear winner.

“Look, I just wanted to let you know that I’m really sorry you’re not going to be able to play in the game. I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to you and I saw you come in,” he gestured to the doors and I hesitated, feeling a bit taken aback.

“That’s incredibly nice of you, considering you hate me,” I snorted and he smirked, shrugging as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

“Doesn’t mean you’re not a great teammate. I can separate the two enough. Besides Chris is fine as a backup but I know Clay and I both would prefer you on the field. Just really shitty and I wanted to say that before the season ended and we didn’t see each other anymore,” he shrugged and I nodded slowly.

“Thanks I guess. It’s surprising but it means a lot to me that you feel that way. At least as a teammate,” I corrected with a smirk and he nodded. “I’ll be at practice tonight, just trying to get an early dinner in,” I gestured and he nodded.

“Yeah I just ate, so see you then I guess?” he hesitated awkwardly and then waved once before walking off. Jake glanced at me, looking amused as I grabbed my fork and took my bite.

“Well that was weird,” he laughed once and I shrugged. “Anyway, Katie is coming here right?” he poked his finger into the table and I nodded slowly.

“Her finals are over, so she’s coming to visit until our classes are over. Since Clay isn’t welcome for Christmas she wanted a chance to see him, you know because they’re so close?” I offered and he nodded slowly, looking a bit peeved.

“So what’s Clay doing for the break? Is he really staying istanbul travesti here at his house?” he demanded and I hesitated. My stomach knotted up and I bit my lip.

“Uh, well, I am uh,” I blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed as a knowing smile curled across Jake’s lips. “Look I offered to stay here for a week, and then we agreed to go to my mom’s for Christmas and New Year’s since it won’t be as crazy or anything,” I shrugged, ignoring how pleased he was as I stabbed my food.

“You’re seriously in love with him,” it was a statement, but it felt like a question. Or even an accusation of disbelief.

“Am I not supposed to be?” I demanded angrily, glaring at Jake as he shrugged.

“I guess I still always pictured you as the dutiful, subservient husband to a demanding she-witch of a wife. To say this outcome is a lot nicer is an understatement,” he laughed, sipping his drink as I rolled my eyes. “It’s obvious you both have grown a lot together. The relationship seems healthy enough,” he turned to his plate, seeming a bit more serious and I pursed my lips.

“Do I have your blessing?” I teased, kicking him lightly with my good foot and he laughed, covering his mouth as he kept chewing.

“Fuck off, you know damn well you’d do whatever you want with or without my blessing,” he shook his head, stabbing at his plate as he shrugged then. “But in all honesty I really like Clay for you. He’s enough of a challenge that you don’t become complacent, and yet he’s also so obsessed with you that he’s willing to improve and compromise too,” he teased, but I couldn’t stop my smile.

“Yeah, I get what you mean. My parents really like him,” I admitted and Jake chuckled.

“So he has them fooled?” he laughed and I scoffed, kicking him under the table. He winced, rubbing his leg. “Do they know how perverted you two are?” he continued and I could only grumble, ignoring the burning in my ears as I ate. A plate was set down next to mine suddenly and I flinched, looking up to see Clay smiling at me.

“What’s got you all embarrassed?” he chuckled, pinching my ear. I swatted his hand away, Jake laughing as he adjusted smugly and leaned into his hand as he tapped the table.

“Bruno here was just telling me how his parents adore you!” Jake’s tone was mocking and infuriating. “And I asked if he knew how perverted you two are!” he laughed then, Clay chuckling as he shrugged and leaned over to kiss my head. I slid in, adjusting as he went to get himself a drink. I finished mine and Jake glanced at it. “Want a refill?” he gestured and I nodded slowly. He snagged my drink, getting up and I watched as he nudged Clay, the two of them laughing.

I don’t know if it made me nervous, happy, or irked that they were so chummy now. Of course Jake was my best friend and I wanted them to get along. But something was nagging at me. I watched Clay tug on his ear, laughing as he turned to walk over here and it hit me. The uncomfortable pang in my stomach was obvious as I watched the gesture. I was jealous Clay was affectionate with other people.

“Pffft,” I laughed at myself, shaking my head as I turned back to my plate taking another bite. The cushion shifted and I glanced to my left, smiling as Clay adjusted, his arm brushing mine lightly. “So when does Katie get here?” I asked as he took his first bite.

“She wanted to try for tonight, but if not then tomorrow at some point during the day,” he shrugged, not embarrassed or worried about talking with food in his mouth. It was something I noticed he was super conscious of when I first met him, but as time passed he seemed to be morphing before my eyes. And now I couldn’t even recognize the person he used to be back when I was wide-eyed freshman.

“And she’s ok with staying on the couch for a few nights?” I muttered and he nodded. “And our silly little mini-Christmas idea?” I nudged him and he chuckled, nodding again with a cute smile as he glanced at me.

“The idea of decorating Mel’s silly fake tree, getting drunk and having fun, sounds like the best Christmas celebration. Compared to past Christmas traditions I was subjected to anyway,” he mumbled with a slight smile. I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pity, knowing to some extent how crazy his parents were. But we never had a full blown conversation about it. It wasn’t that I didn’t try, it just seemed to be a sensitive subject he often chose to avoid.

“Sorry, I got caught up with some one from my project. We were talking about our presentation tomorrow,” Jake surprised me as he plopped down with a heavy sigh, setting my drink down. I took it, sipping it happily as I studied him. “So Clay, you excited to spend an entire Christmas and New Year’s with Leon and Aymee?” he started immediately, Clay smiling warmly as he nodded.

“I honestly really loved Thanksgiving with his family,” our eyes met, my heart feeling so full. “They’re really welcoming and nice. Of course some of them are a lot to handle,” he snorted, Jake laughing. He knew all too well how crazy some of my relatives were. “But, the idea of spending istanbul travestileri holidays like that?” he sounded pensive then and I studied him, anxious to hear his thoughts. We shared another look and he smiled, shrugging as he turned back to Jake. “It sounds kinda nice,” he laughed lightly.

“I experienced a 4th of July at the Fischer compound. And I gotta tell you what, no other 4th of July compared. The drinks were great, the food was even better, and the entertainment?” he blew a raspberry, shaking his head with a chuckle. I felt a rush of emotions at the thought of Clay liking my family. As Jake and him talked about them I was lost in my own thoughts. The idea of being his husband, of having him really become a part of my family, felt more amazing knowing he’d enjoy that as much as I would.

“Earth to Bruno!” Jake reached over and knocked on my forehead.

“Fuck off!” I slapped his hand away, ignoring his laugh as he sat back. “What?” I demanded, finishing up my dinner as he sighed.

“I asked if you were going to stay in the dorm ever again, or if you were going to officially move in with Clay?” he teased and I blushed, feeling hot as I glanced at Clay. The look on his face was hard to read as he studied my reaction. “I’m kidding man chill!” Jake interjected when he realized the turmoil he brewed. “I am starting to enjoy the idea of having my own place,” he continued lightly and I pursed my lips, staring at my near empty plate as I processed that.

When Clay finished he and I went to his house so he could get ready for practice. I was sitting on his bed, enjoying the relief in my arms and hands as he changed. He snapped the band of his compression shorts and it caught my attention. We were looking at each other when he smirked.

“So would you want to live with me?” he asked then, turning back to his dresser. I took a deep, shaky breath and clasped my hands together. I couldn’t stop twiddling my thumbs.

“I want to just say yes, because I would probably love that,” I started nervously and he sighed.

“But?” he pressed when I didn’t continue. The thought was stuck on my tongue, but that was because I didn’t know how to phrase it without upsetting him.

“What if you do go pro and you travel around? Having to get used to living together and learning to enjoy it for a few months, just to immediately lose it. It seems harder than to just-“

“You know I have no plans of going pro,” he insisted sternly and I flinched, not wanting to look at him. This conversation was always so hard for us. I felt like he was being dumb, sacrificing a huge opportunity for the sake of our relationship. I didn’t know how to tell him that it would be ok because I’d wait for him, hell I’d follow him when I could… I didn’t know how to tell him that I planned on marrying him because it sounded crazy. We’d only been together a few months, only known each other for a little over a year.

But, nothing beat this feeling I always felt with him.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to snap,” he caved as I sat quietly and my stomach lurched as I looked at him. He was holding his shirt, studying me with a wear expression. “I know we talked about this, and I know where you’re coming from. It’s just,” he sighed, sliding his shirt on and walking over. He stood in front of me, grabbing my chin and lifting my head up as he smiled softly. “The idea of not being able to see you or hold you whenever I want to always makes me get angry,” he muttered and I smirked.

“Clay you’re obsessed with me,” I whispered and he laughed, leaning down with a sexy little glint in his eyes.

“I blame you for being so amazing and irresistibly charming all the damn time,” he muttered, our noses brushing before his lips touched mine. I let my hands run up his thighs, the spandex of his shorts feeling interesting against my calloused palms.

“And I just hate to think I’m the reason you might throw away such an amazing career. Like if you think about it! Our time apart would be so short compared to our time together,” I insisted and he pouted, shaking his head slowly.

“How do you know? What if my career is long and I travel a lot? You won’t get tired of it?” he muttered and I smiled, grabbing his hand and kissing it as he stood up slowly. “And how do I guarantee you don’t just leave me for someone better, who is around more?” he grumbled, looking so worried and cute all at once. I sighed and pressed his knuckles to my forehead as I looked down. Did I tell him now?

“Hey, knock! Knock!” Mel opened the door slowly and I sighed, losing my moment. We both looked at her as she leaned on the door and smiled at us. “Katie is staying here right?” she asked and Clay nodded, his hand sliding into my hair gently as I let my hands grip his legs lightly.

“When does Kevin come back?” I asked and she smiled at me, hugging herself as she giggled.

“I go with his parents to pick him up from the airport Saturday,” she looked so happy it was stupidly adorable. A weird thought occurred to me and I smiled, glancing at Clay.

“Imagine how cute travesti istanbul it would be if I met you at the airport with my parents after you travel?” I chuckled, squeezing his ass lightly. He sighed, shaking his head with a smug smile. “I’m excited to meet Kevin, are you two spending Christmas together?” I breathed and she nodded, hugging herself.

“My dad is ok with it since I haven’t seen him in so long,” she sighed and then took a deep breath and giggled again covering her face. “Oh I miss him so much it’s ridiculous. But nothing beats this,” she put her hands to her stomach. “The super excited, anxious feeling. I’m going to run and jump into his arms!” she laughed and Clay chuckled, his thumb brushing my ear as he pulled me closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his hips and sighed.

“I’d love to run and jump into your arms,” I teased and he laughed, tugging on my hair gently. “I’m just saying!” I laughed happily, letting him go as he pushed away to finish getting dressed.

“I’m making some brownies tomorrow to take to him, so you guys can have some too,” Mel mumbled and I nodded. “How’s your leg feeling today?” she gestured to it and I shrugged, lifting it up. It was definitely sore. But it was the annoying kind of sore that was more of an after thought than an unbearable pain.

“Just annoying at this point,” I sighed finally and she nodded. “But having your cooking every day has been wonderful. Kevin is a lucky man,” I laughed and she did too.

“I can cook too!” Clay looked offended as he turned to me, tying his shorts. I bit my lip and leaned back onto my hands, wiggling my legs lazily as I sighed. “Do you not feel like a lucky man?” he pressed and I pursed my lips, making a playfully thoughtful face. He threw his hoodie at me and I laughed, falling back as Mel giggled.

“My cooking is better though Clay. You have to agree,” she insisted and he sighed. “Well I am going to study for my last final. Have a nice practice you two,” she left as I stood up slowly, Clay catching his sweater as I tossed it to him. He stepped into some sweatpants, sliding his shoes on afterward.

“You sure you don’t want to get a wheelchair?” Clay noticed my discomfort as I got onto my crutches, cringing as the soreness in my palms.

“No it’s ok. The physical exhaustion is nice in a weird way,” I laughed and he could only pout. We went at my pace to the field, Clay even offering me a ride a few times. It wasn’t until we got to the last stretch to the indoor gym that I caved. I used his backpack to hold my crutches, Clay getting me up on his back.

“You know, you’re heavier than you look,” he teased and I frowned, nibbling on his neck as I squeezed him a bit. “Not in a bad way. You’re a really nice, lean muscular build. I love it. It’s really sexy, but you’re not bulky or heavy looking. So it’s just unexpected,” he adjusted me slightly, and I helped by tightening my grip as I admired his neck and the side of his face.

We made it to the indoor gym and Clay brought me to the chairs the coaches had set up. I sat down, Clay setting my crutches down. He leaned over and gave me a sweet kiss, his hands sliding into my hair as he studied me.

“I miss playing with you,” he sighed and I smiled, pushing on his stomach.

“We play together almost every night,” I muttered and he grinned knowingly, kissing me one more time before stripping his layers and joining the rest of the team for warm ups. I was still a bit envious, but I had two more years of school to play if I healed correctly. And that’s all I cared about, healing and supporting Clay for the end of his last season.

***

I was lying on my back, pursing my lips as I stared at my student profile. I finished all of my tests and it was Friday morning. Katie and Jake had a full day date planned today and Clay was supposedly wrapping up his last final. Mel wasn’t going to be back until meeting up with Jake and Katie to get to our game, because she had some final project stuff to work on. So I was alone waiting for my grades to post. I had slept in, and was now religiously refreshing my profile.

“Have you seriously not gotten out of bed?” Clay’s voice startled me and I laughed, setting my phone down as I wiggled to get more comfortable.

“I like your bed. It smells like you,” I muttered, watching him walk over. He slid his hoodie off, his shirt going with it. I bit my lip as I admired the band of his briefs peaking up out of his jeans. “How did your last final go?” I whispered as he crawled onto the bed, yanking the blanket out of the way.

“Fine. I was more distracted thinking about our game tonight,” he grumbled and I nodded slowly, reaching over to grab my phone and glance at the clock. “Mmm, you didn’t even get dressed?” his hand slid up my naked leg and I tensed up momentarily, melting at his touch as he started kissing my neck.

“Should I have?” I muttered and he chuckled.

“No, it’s just a nice surprise,” he whispered as his fingers teased between my legs. I leaned back into him, closing my eyes as I dropped my phone and bit my lip. His other arm slid under my neck, hooking over my shoulder as his palm pushed against my chest. “And a beautiful distraction,” he murmured, his lips sliding along my shoulder. I felt his tongue and teeth teasing my skin and then groaned when his fingers found my hole.
